Talk:Desu

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Looking for the Desu article? Well, despite its poor writing style, this revision appears to contain the most information. But apparently we need to keep redirecting to Copula...

This revision is also perhaps useful but is a copyvio.

Perhaps if you clowns would stop redirecting to Copula and left the actual article alone for a while, it might actually get edited up to a reasonable standard.

desu desu desu desu desu 99.164.109.224 (talk) 07:40, 22 March 2008 (UTC)

WHAT THE bobba IS DESU?!

A copula. Can't you follow redirects? Also see Rozen Maiden for use in internet culture Zig 21:55, 23 June 2006 (UTC)

Desu is a meme, why not have it's own page, or so they say --Kenshin1591 00:42, 30 August 2006 (UTC)

Desu as a meme isn't notable outside of 4chan... at least, not yet. Doc Sigma (wait, what?) 21:17, 1 November 2006 (UTC)
yes it is.
Tell that to the multitude of places that got crapflooded with it. Just because you only roam a sheltered part of the Internet doesn't mean it's not known in the rest of the great Intarweb void. Leave alone. Anonymous does not forgive. (Hilariously, this post is not anonymous. Whatever ^_^) --King Nintendoid 03:40, 11 November 2006 (UTC)
Then, hmm. Just because desu gets crapflooded everywhere, does that make it a meme? If so, then, hmm. Hmm. See, I'd love for desu to be notable, but it just doesn't feel like it is... yet. But maybe it is. Maybe it deserves its own article, but something like Desu (Internet meme) instead of just Desu? Thoughts? Doc Sigma (wait, what?) 17:36, 14 November 2006 (UTC)

People are going to come to Wikipedia looking for information on the anime or whatever all these 4chaners are talking about. If the search ends up directing them to Copula, that only frustrates their search for information. There's plenty of info about the other uses of "desu" already. The internet phenomenon may not be significant enough to have neutral, third party articles about it, and thus merit an entire article about it, but information seekers shouldn't have their efforts frustrated. So I've turned this into a disambiguation page. It seemed like the most elegant solution. Perceptorii 17:44, 26 February 2007 (UTC)

Copula? Sounds sexy.70.22.125.161 13:02, 9 July 2007 (UTC)

  • You could say this meme is notable if you can somehow cite that 4chan and viral marketing made this anime popular in America. I think a similiar phenomena happened with the Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya. 71.174.233.246 (talk) 19:59, 26 December 2007 (UTC)
