A recent dialogue on GigaOM surrounding several of these technologies, and discussions with a number of other geeks like me, prompted me to try and provide a taxonomy here. I noticed the Desktop Bot stub under Bots and thought I'd fill it in. Planned work: Trying to find details on desktop bot footprint (processing, memory consumption) and on the protocols the bots use to communicate (how does Plazes geolocate; how does Webot handle access; etc.) Acroll 05:33, 11 September 2007 (UTC)
