Visible on the right, top right, and top left edges of photograph are the cards and tokens making up three of the characters. The center is dominated by the board constructed out of interlocking tiles. In the bottom right are three decks of cards used to represent random equipment found in chests. To the left of that is the draw and discard decks for the Overlord's card. The red and white figures on the board are monsters controlled by the Overlord, while the grey ones are the heroes controlled by the other players. The heroes are surrounded here. This scene is area 5; the last area, of "Quest 3: Problems of Life and Death" in the original Descent: Journeys in the Dark game. The red snake-like creature is the naga "Kisst-Haa", whose defeat marks victory for the non-Overlord players.
