Destroy the Opposition is the third album by Maryland death metal band Dying Fetus. This album marks a change in DF's direction, where the political themes become dominant, which has continued in all of their albums from this point on.

Producer Steve Carr was brought in to help give the album a clearer, more polished sound. He also helped introduce the idea of writing more political songs; however, John Gallagher has also stated that he wanted to take the band in "a more serious direction, and to hopefully bring about some changes in the world. I know that's not very likely from death metal, but hey, we're trying!"

In the 2004 book "Choosing Death," Destroy the Opposition was one of the albums cited as an underground death-metal classic.

DF formed Blunt Force Records in 2000 as well.
