Desperation Squad is an avant-garde rock and roll band from Pomona, California. It played its first live show on May 19, 1984 and is still active as of 2006.

The band performed a song called, "Band", in the semifinal round of America's Got Talent on August 2, 2006. Their performance was not well received by the judges and the studio audience. Brandy went so far as saying she was not responsible for the selection of the band in the semifinals. On the viewers' results show the next day, the band was one of the lowest-three vote getters of the night.
