Desmond Koh (swimmer)

Desmond Koh Mun Kit (born 1973) is a former competitive swimmer from Singapore. He is a career banker and is currently a director in equity derivatives marketing at Credit Suisse. He is founder of SPORTinc, a sports and marketing, management and consultancy agency.

Koh won many medals at the Southeast Asian Games, and represented the Republic in the Asian Games (1990, 1994), Commonwealth Games (1990, 1994), Olympics (1988, 1992, 1996) and the 1991 World Championships. His younger brother, Gerald, also represented Singapore at the Olympics.[1] Although he is no longer representing the Republic, some of Koh's national swimming records are still unbroken.

He studied at Florida State University in Tallahassee and the University of Southern California (B.S. (Electrical Engineering)) where he was awarded a Rhodes Scholarship,[2][3] and hence subsequently studied management at Oxford.

Koh married Nadya Hutagalung at the Uma Ubud[4] in Bali on 16 December 2006. She has 2 sons, Tyrone and Fynn, from previous relationships. He has an older brother, Terry (b 1971), who also swam competitively at the national level.

  • 400m Individual Medley - 4:28.95, 27 July 1992 (Still unbroken)
