Desmond Elliot is one of the talented actors in the fledging Nigerian Movie Industry popularly called Nollywood. Quite unassuming and God-fearing young man, Desmond like any other actor started with a walk on, (waka pass) but with diligence, hardwork and perseverance, he toiled his way to the top. He is married to an Akwa-Ibom lady, Victoria Imabong, and had twins (boys) on March 29, 2007.

Desmond Elliot is mixed-tribed Nigerian. His father is a Yoruba man from Lagos State, while his mother, an Ibo woman from Anambra State, also has roots in Delta State. At that time, his mother was running about three restaurants while his father was a Civil Engineer. It was until the depression in Nigeria, that things started going tough. He had his primary education at Air Force Primary school in Jos from where then moved to St John’s College. He studied Economics at the Lagos State University(LASU),and graduated in 2003.

It all started when he was denied visa to travel abroad and had to return Lagos. He was talked into acting by a friend of his and he decided to give it a trial. He shot into limelight through television soap operas such as Everyday People, One Too Much, Wale Adenuga’s Super Stories and Saints and Sinners. He was soon to become a regular face in Nollywood movies such that tracking him down for an interview became almost impossible. But he has an ambition to become the executive governor of Lagos State in the nearest future.

He is married to Mrs. Victoria Imabong who is from Akwa-ibom. He dated his wife for about eight years before they finally got married. Acting he quotes "has exposed me to the opposite sex but the truth is that my wife means the whole world to me. I appreciate her and I married her basically for love and nothing else. She is so understanding and caring. These are the two vital attributes I find lacking in most women of today." In previous years, rumours had it that his marriage was facing a turbulent crisis. This was as a result of the numerous love scenes he played in movies. He revealed that his love scenes didn't make him unfaithful to his wife and in numerous publications that she was his best friend.
