Designerspirene is a Norwegian reality television series that focuses on fashion design. The show is aired on TV3 and is based on the American format, Project Runway hosted by Heidi Klum. Project Runway has been Emmy-nominated for "Outstanding reality-competition program" in 2005 and 2006
Every week the contestants are given a task and $130 to create the best outfit under a restricted amount of time. The outfit is shown off at the runway and is being judged at the end of the show. The judges will then deliberate who will be sent home for elimination.
The winner will get to show off the whole collection at Oslo Fashion Week, a trip to Olympus Fashion Week in New York, a fashion spread in ELLE magazine, sewing equipment worth $6500 from Janome, $25000 in cash and more...

Designerspirene is hosted by supermodel Vendela Kirsebom Thommessen. The panel of judges constists of Vendela Kirsebom Thommessen, fashion designer Peter Løchstøer, Petra Middelthon fashion director of Norwegian ELLE magazine. The fourth judge is a guest judge every week. William Jensen is Norway's first fashion designer and is also the contestants' mentor.
