Desert Ridge Marketplace
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Desert Ridge Marketplace is a super-regional shopping mall located just off the Loop 101 and Tatum Boulevard in North Phoenix, Arizona. It was built by Vestar Development Co. and opened in December 2001. The mall has a gross leasable area of 1.2 million square feet (111,000 m²).[1] The mall was targeted at upscale residents of the north East Valley, and of Scottsdale, a five-minute drive from the mall via the freeway.[2]
Currently, the lifestyle center is relatively middle-class, but that will soon dramatically change following the construction of the CityNorth expansion on the east side of Desert Ridge. The CityNorth development will adjoin and connect to the Desert Ridge development, but will offer a much more upscale collection of stores than what is currently offered at Desert Ridge to cater to the affluent population of northern Phoenix and Scottsdale.[3]
