Desabhimani is a Malayalam newspaper and the organ of the Kerala State Committee of the Communist Party of India (Marxist). Started as a weekly in Kozhikode in 1942 and converted to a daily in 1946. Deshabhimani now has six different editions: Kozhikode, Kochi, Thiruvananthapuram, Kannur, Kottayam and Trichur. According to the National Readership Survey of 1995, Desabhimani was the third largest newspaper in Kerala.[1] At present, V. V. Dakshinamoorthi, secretariat member of the CPI(M) is the Chief Editor of the paper and P. Jayarajan the General Manager.
