DeSutter is a surname of Flemish derivation. Its meaning pertains to farming or milling (wheat grinding). DeSutters originated in the northern parts of Belgium in the Ghent (Gent) area near the English Channel, as well as in Northwestern France. Variants include DeSoto, DeZuter and DeZutter.
