[edit] High school career

Wynn attended Reading High School in Cincinnati, Ohio. In 2001, he was regarded as one of the nation's elite high school backs totaling 2,283 yards (9.3 avg.) on 246 carries with 30 TDs. Along with Running back, Wynn also played linebacker and safety at the high school level. [1]

[edit] College career

DeShawn Wynn was a four-year contributor to the Florida Gators football team, typically holding the role of the starting tailback. He finished with 540, 217, 621, and 699 rushing yards during his four-year tenure (2077 total yards, 25 total TDs). He also finished with 376 total receiving yards and 3 receiving TDs over those four years. This included being the leading rusher for the 2006 Florida Gators football team, who won the 2007 BCS National Championship Game.

Wynn was known as a stocky, strong runner with a good lower body, along with good quickness to break tackles. He was also known as injury-prone, missing many games during his career.

While he usually started when healthy during his collegiate career, he was never considered a premiere running back that could lead a ground offensive. Some blame the styles of offenses he played in, while others point out his inconsistency.[2]

[edit] Green Bay Packers

Wynn was drafted by the Green Bay Packers in the seventh round of the 2007 NFL Draft.

Wynn scored his first two career touchdowns against the New York Giants in Week 2 of the NFL season. He also scored a touchdown in back to back weeks versus the Chicago Bears and the Washington Redskins.

On October 29, 2007 against the Denver Broncos on Monday Night Football, Wynn injured his shoulder on his first rushing play of the game. The next day Wynn was put on injured reserve list and missed the rest of the season.[3]
