Hello. My name is Deron Baker. I am a registered pharmacist in the state of Florida and currently work in a hospital setting. But, that part of my life is rather boring.
What I am really interested in is the world of investing. After reading many different books and articles, I realized that there was no universal book that contained all the information that an average person would need to navigate the world of investing. Many of us are participating in our company-sponsored retirement plans (or, we should be), but have no idea if we are "doing it right" or not. Since an acceptable book could not be found, I decided to write one myself.
I began writing the rough draft for it on May 2006, and have almost completed the project a year later in May 2007. Many of the original drafts can be found on my myspace.com blogs. However, those rough drafts are not as readable as I would have liked them to be. Hence, for the final version, I have reworked the material to a much more concise and readable format.
The book will be offered as a PDF download from a website to be named later. It will be available for free to anyone and everyone who wishes to read it. As I say in the introduction, "I gain no monetary benefit from this book other than the investment gains I receive from the knowledge found within."
I have opened a Wiki account and will write an article about the book. Two reasons for this. 1) To get the word out to anyone searching through Wikipedia. 2) To document my efforts on a broad-based website, which includes a time and date stamp. This will prove that I am the original author of the book, should some unscupulous person attempt to plageurize my work, sell the book, or claim that I plageurized them.
A site like Wikipedia seems so appropriate for the announcement of my book. This very site is based on the concept of free information. That is what I want for my book. I want to spread the word to anyone and everyone who will hear it. As I say in my book, "I only ask that you do not sell this book, because the information must be given away for free. This is how people will know that the book is genuine and not self-serving."
