[edit] "Status of Operation Shutdown" section
I removed this, since it's unencyclopedic, and mocking Mr. Bell for his troubles is a violation of WP:BLP. -Hit bull, win steak(Moo!) 19:50, 8 November 2006 (UTC)
I disagree. It's not mocking any "troubles". He said he was going into Operation Shutdown and he's yet to cease said operation. People searching for Derek Bell want to know whether Operation Shutdown persists and this is an appropriate manner to convey that information.—The preceding unsigned comment was added by 192.88.124.209 (talk • contribs) 05:43, 21 February 2007.
No, it's really not. It's demeaning, and it's redundant, since the article already says that he never played again. If you persist in adding it, you can be blocked for violating WP:BLP. -Hit bull, win steak(Moo!) 17:07, 21 February 2007 (UTC)
I agree with the above user, 192.88.124.209. The status of Mr. Bell's operation has been a part of this article since its inception. I feel that it is pertinent to update the status of a campaign on which Mr. Bell is still currently embarked. Furthermore, what problem do you have with my contributions to WikiPedia? You also removed a contribution I made to Spring Training that was even more justified than this one. I do not go around undoing your additions, please show some respect for mine.—Preceding unsigned comment added by Mtcupps (talk • contribs)
I reverted your change to Spring Training because you removed a perfectly good section of the article with no good reason. I'm reverting your change here because its inclusion is against policies and guidelines. If you follow policies and guidelines in your future contributions, we won't have an issue. -Hit bull, win steak(Moo!) 13:21, 22 February 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Compromise
I've added a sentence that makes note of the fact that some people do mock him for this while not allowing Wikipedia to itself become a vehicle for such mockery. --Random832 16:38, 22 February 2007 (UTC)
