Derwent Heights

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Derwent Heights is the name of a small middle-class private housing estate in Derby, United Kingdom, situated next to Chaddesden and Oakwood.

The houses are typical of the modern look adopted in the nineteen eighties. The estate is known for being selective amongst viewers, and in particular first time buyers due to the small size of the mostly semi-detached housing, although the estate does have a range of larger detached properties.

In comparison to other housing estates in the area it is incredibly small, especially in comparison to the nearby estate Oakwood, which dwarfs Derwent Heights.

The estate is known for its height above Derby, hence the name and because of this it has good views of the city. It is not far from public houses called The Paddock and The Master Locksmith and a retail park called the Meteor Centre which houses many D.I.Y and furniture stores, as well as the supermarket Morrisons.
