[edit] Sport
Derrytrasna's local Gaelic Football club is Highmoss Sarsfields GFC, which in addition to having numerous teams is also a centre for other sports and activities. Founded in 1926, Sarsfields currently play in the Armagh ACL Division II and harbour ambitions in the Armagh Intermediate Football Championship, under the management of former Armagh GAA star Kieran Mc Gurk. The club's all time highest achievement came in 1990, when for the first and only time they won the Armagh Senior Championship. Another great achievement for the senior team came in 2007, when not only the men's seniors were promoted to division 2, but also the ladies team. The current chairman of the club is Patrick O'Hagan.
