Derrick Hamilton (basketball)

Derrick Lamont Hamilton (born November 20, 1966 in Mobile, Alabama, USA) is a former professional basketball player.
A 6'7" small forward, Hamilton was a college hoops star at The University of Southern Mississippi in the late 1980s. He was drafted by the New Jersey Nets with the 2nd pick in the 3rd round (52nd overall) of the 1988 NBA Draft, but was not signed to a contract.
Despite failing to enter the NBA, Hamilton had a successful and long career abroad [1].
He had a notable career in Greece playing for Sporting BC, AEK BC, Apollon Patras BC and Iraklio BC.
While in Israel, Hamilton played for Hapoel Jerusalem B.C. and was nicknamed "The Glue" due to his tremendous contribution to team chemistry.
He ended his career in Europe playing for Dynamo Moscow.[2]
