Dermot Michael Coyne is a protagonist in the Nuala Anne McGrail series of eleven mystery novels by Roman Catholic priest and author Father Andrew M. Greeley. The novels in the series include Irish Gold (1994), Irish Lace (1996), Irish Whiskey (1998), Irish Mist (1999), Irish Eyes (2000), Irish Love (2001), Irish Stew! (2002), Irish Cream (2005), Irish Crystal (2006),Irish Linen (2007), and Irish Tiger (2008). He is the American husband of Nuala Anne McGrail, a professional singer and a native of Ireland who moves to Chicago after their marriage, where they raise four children ( Nelliecoyne, Michael (The Mick),Socra Marie & Poraig Josefa (Patrick Joseph))and solve mysteries. Nuala Anne is a bit "fey" or psychic, as is their eldest daughter Nelliecoyne, and often relies on her intuition to help her solve mysteries rooted in the past.
