Derita is a neighborhood of Charlotte, North Carolina, USA that is found north of Uptown. It is located north of I-85 and south of W.T. Harris Blvd and is generally centered on West Sugar Creek Road between North Graham Street and Nevin Road. The area was largely agracultural until the early 1960s when substantial residential development began. It is now well known for its CMS reform school of the same name.
