Derek Pender (born 2 October 1984 in Dublin) is an Irish football, whose current club is Bray Wanderers in the Eircom League of Ireland.

Pender began his senior career at Shelbourne in 2003 after impressing at schoolboy level with Belvedere and for Republic of Ireland at under age level. Pender made sporadic appearances for Shelbourne, namely in the Eircom League Cup and FAI Cup competitions. Pender departed Shelbourne in 2004 to join FAI First Division side Dublin City. Pender became a regular in the Vikings first team and a successful 2005 season was capped off with promotion to the Premier Division, after a tense play-off victory over Shamrock Rovers. Mid-way through the 2006 Premier Division season, Dublin City ceased to exist leaving Pender a free agent.

Pender would soon return to the FAI First Division by joining Shamrock Rovers and he played an important role in Rovers' First Division winning team that season. He made his debut at a deserted Gortakeegan on the 1st of September [1]. In his two seasons at Rovers Derek made a total of 28 appearances scoring once.

Signed for Bray in December 2007 [2]
