Derek Nelson (born April 10, 1987) is an American film and television actor.

Nelson was born in Reading, Pennsylvania. He was raised in Berks County, Pennsylvania. Nelson had attended the Twin Valley High School coming with a High school diploma in 2006. He had graduated with honors despite being the class clown and always stirring up trouble. Nelson's height is 5 foot and 10 inches. He was nicknamed "The Mongoose" after he defeated 8 gangsters in a rap battle on the boardwalk of Ocean City, MD, where the actual boardwalk was cut off from so many people standing to watch the event.

In late 2008, he will be appearing in his first film called Harold which will be scheduled for release in late 08, starring Spencer Breslin, Ally Sheedy, Nikki Blonsky, and also Cuba Gooding, Jr.. According to the Internet Movie Database, Nelson can perform a wide range of sports and acted for 6 months in the Las Vegas production of "Tony 'N' Tina's Wedding" at the Rio.

Nelson was trained at the "Chris Bearde School of Comedy" located in Las Vegas, Nevada. Nelson was trained by Hollywood producer and writer Chris Bearde. He had studied comedy and the arts with him. Derek attended the University of Nevada, Las Vegas with a 4.0 GPA before deciding to drop out and pursue an acting career.

Nelson is currently in post-production with his role in the film Harold which will be released in 08. He will be moving to LA in October of '08 and can be reached on his cell phone at 610.763.4965
