Derek Hobson is a television announcer and newsreader.[1] His big break came via Tony Flanagan, executive producer at ATV [2]
Hobson became the host of the popular ATV talent show, New Faces, from 1973 to 1978, and was therefore present at the genesis of many significant careers in show business.
Hobson also worked extensively for Television South West, usually as host of the That's My Dog, one of only a few TSW network productions made over its eleven-year tenure.
He also hosted the show Jeopardy! [3][4].
In 2007 he featured in the documentary "When Britain First Had Talent", with Tony Hatch.[5]
