Derek Frye is a fictional character from the ABC soap opera, All My Children. He was portrayed by William Christian from 1991-2005, then was recast with Charles Parnell in 2005. Jerome Preston Bates filled in for Parnell in late 2007. Until June 2008, he was the Police Chief of the Pine Valley Police Department.
Derek's romantic relationships on AMC have been few, but over the years he has been partnered with physician Angela Hubbard, bar owner Krystal Carey, and fellow policer officers Mimi Reed (whom he eventually married) and Taylor Roxbury-Cannon (stepsister to his nephew Terrence Frye).
