Derek Culley
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Derek Culley (born 1956) was an Argentine cricketer. He was a wicket-keeper. Culley played in the 1979 ICC Trophy competition for Argentina, debuting against Singapore in a single-wicket defeat in Birmingham, England.
Culley was a middle-order batsman and an occasional bowler during the competition, in which he played four games, scoring modestly in a team which showed signs of occasional inconsistency. Culley played once again in the 1986 competition, once again held in England, and in one match, a defeat against Malaysia, top-scored with 41 runs, nearly half of the whole team's total score.
It wasn't until his final match in the ICC Trophy, in 1986, that Culley made his highest score, of 44 not out. Following this final Cup appearance, Culley continued to play occasionally for the North of Argentina, for whom he had made his debut during the 1976/77 season, and made his final appearance in 2003, 26 years later. Culley played one match in the Americas Championship competition of 2004.
Clara and Lucia Culley both represented the Argentine women's team during 2007.
