[edit] History

Established in 1884, Dereham started their life playing in the Norwich District and the Dereham & District Leagues. They made their first cup final appearance in 1892, losing to C.E.Y.M.S. in the Norfolk Senior Cup. The club then competed in the Norfolk and Suffolk League until 1965, when they joined the Anglian Combination. They were members of the league's Premier Division until 1989, when they were relegated. They returned to the Premier Division the season after, having won the First Division at the first attempt.

Dereham joined the Eastern Counties Football League Division One in 1998. In the 2001/02 season, they reached the 4th round of the FA Vase. They are currently members of the Eastern Counties Football League Premier Division and are the current holders of the Norfolk Senior Cup, having beaten Wroxham 1-0 in the final at Carrow Road in 2007. On February 2nd 2008, Dereham lost out on going to the 2008 Norfolk senior cup final by losing to Sheringham F.C in the final minutes of the semi-final game.On February 4th, the committee and Chairman, Simon Barnes, decided to part ways with manager Rob Taylor, meaning player/captain Adam Gusterson has taken over as manager for the rest of the 2008 season with the help of Jason Fuller. The new managing duo won their first game as managers with a score of 2-0 against Newmarket Town F.C.
