[edit] Assembly Member?

In light of the new deputy mayor (or is A deputy mayor?) who is not an AM, does this article need to be revised?--Gordon (talk) 14:46, 6 May 2008 (UTC)

[edit] How many Deputy Mayors?

How many Deputy Mayors will London have under Mayor Boris Johnson? Currently this article states:

After Boris Johnson became Mayor, he appointed Richard Barnes as his main Deputy. However, he also gave the title of Deputy Mayor to several other people, each with a specific role: Ian Clement (Government Relations); Kit Malthouse (Policing); and Ray Lewis (Young People).

So far, I count four. Earlier in the article, there is a statement that:

The deputy mayor's salary in 2007-08 is £90,954.

Does that mean that EACH of those four is going to get almost £91,000 a year? "Red" Ken got by with one Deputy at a time. The press release from www.london.gov.uk [1] does state:

Notes to Editors
   * Richard Barnes is the statutory Deputy Mayor

Which indicates that the others are something else than "statutory Deputy Mayor". "Non-statutory Deputy Mayors"? At what salary?

This article needs clarification and improvement regarding the above points.--TGC55 (talk) 21:26, 6 May 2008 (UTC) edited & reorded --TGC55 (talk) 21:31, 6 May 2008 (UTC)
