Deputy Chief of the Defence Staff

In Canada, the Deputy Chief of the Defence Staff oversees the planning, co ordination and conduct of all Canadian Forces operations, and is actively involved in the development of joint army, navy and air force capabilities. The current DCDS is Air Force Lieutenant-General Marc Dumais. He replaced Vice-Admiral Greg R. Maddison on April 4, 2005.
