Department of Science and Technology Studies

The Department of Science and Technology Studies is an academic department in University College London, or UCL. It is part of UCL's Faculty of Mathematics and Physical Sciences. The Department offers academic training at both undergraduate and graduate levels. It is one of three departments forming the London Centre for the History of Science, Medicine, and Technology.

UCL was the first UK university to offer undergraduate degrees in this interdisciplinary subject. Science and Technology Studies includes the study of history, philosophy, sociology, science policy, and communication of science.

In 2007-08, academic staff[1] in the department included: Dr Jon Agar, Dr Brian Balmer, Dr Joe Cain, Dr Hasok Chang, Prof Donald Gillies, Dr Andrew Gregory, Dr Jane Gregory, Dr Michela Massimi, and Prof Steve Miller.

Departmental offices are located in 22 Gordon Square, Bloomsbury, London.
