The Department of Biochemistry in the Science Area at Oxford University, England, is one of the largest such departments in Europe. It is currently made up of four main buildings
- The Hans Krebs building (Biochemistry)
- The Donald Woods building (Microbiology)
- The Rex Richards building (Molecular biophysics)
- The Rodney Porter building (Glycobiology)
Until 2006, two other buildings housing genetics (the Walter Bodmer building) and biochemistry (the Rudolph Peters building) also existed. However, these have since been demolished and currently a new departmental building is being constructed. Due for completion in 2010, it will then house biochemistry while the Hans Krebs building is demolished and rebuilt.
