[edit] "Haetae"?

This is my first time posting on this thing, though I peruse it often; anyway, I remember from my trip to Korea the tour guide mentioning something about erm... "Haetae," I guess would be a romization of it. I'm not sure. They're supposed to be these mythical water beasts, built to ward against fire. Does anyone have any more information, or think these statues might warrant an article of their own (as the mythical creature, I suppose), or mention in this one?
