I think the difference between Fawlty and Thatcher is that the idea is you laugh *at* Fawlty because he's so completely ridiculous and insulting, rather than *with* him (or at least I'm pretty sure that was the scriptwriters' intention; however, I don't doubt that many of the audience probably sided with him). Thatcher was probably, sadly, being serious. Still, at least we seem to have moved on from such things in this day and age. Angmering 18:49, 11 September 2007 (UTC)
