While Wikipedia:Manual of Style for Japan-related articles does advocate for macrons, as shown by this: http://www.fushigiyugidvd.com/eikoden/index.htm - Fushigi Yugi with a circumflex is the official spelling. Therefore, official spelling wins over general convention.

This is also the case with Shonen Jump manga. WhisperToMe 13:06, 4 Jul 2004 (UTC)

Ah, thank you. DenisMoskowitz 18:14, 2004 Jul 5 (UTC)

Thanks for the reference to Village Pump. Gee, I would have never imagined anyone would have "dirty thoughts" about that pic. :))) Paranoid 15:47, 8 Sep 2004 (UTC)

[edit] FNORD

Hi! This is Icarus!, being non-Wiki (I'm not logged in...), saying thanx for the work on the Discordianism page! Keep it up!24.176.20.60 16:33, 19 August 2007 (UTC) I may pop in later -- what I've seen of your style here, I like ... I was very active here for a month or so last year, before going away with the news of Wilson's impending death. 'm way too busy on myspace right now to spend much time here, but I have a few items I committed to that I want to get finished. Bye!

[edit] sunday

Let's try for a weeknight in early December, then; or perhaps Sunday Dec 5? Certainly not the Hunt weekend. (Although somewhere in the back of my mind I have the feeling that the ultimate Hunting party is waiting to be formed from the raw substance of wikipedians...) +sj+ 18:34, 22 Nov 2004 (UTC)

[edit] This Day in History links

I'm working on adding more content too but, at a cursory glance, I have content that's not in WikiPedia. My idea is that I will be able to go back and forth and add the content to Wikipedia (the content that's not there, that is)--TNLNYC 21:52, 8 Jun 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Discordian Calendar

As we are, of course, both Discordian Popes, shall we set the calendar schism in place by both making papal pronouncements, I that the calendar is Julian, you that it is Gregorian? Best wishes. Jess Cully 02:52, 5 August 2005 (UTC)

Consider it done. Doing some Google research, you seem to have less support out there - good luck in your quest. We've got 94.5 years to fight it out. DenisMoskowitz 14:31, 2005 August 5 (UTC)
Here's the link to my Pronouncement [1]. Many thanks. Jess Cully 22:40, 8 August 2005 (UTC)
I've now also posted my Pronouncement on 23 Apples of Eris. I thought you'd like Most Holy 7th String of a Mandolin's argument in favour of Gregorian [2]. Jess Cully 22:06, 11 August 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Voting on wikipedia:conlangs has started

Since you've been part of the discussion I thought I'd let you know. Do spread the word to others who would like to vote on it too. --Kaleissin 14:21:56, 2005-08-29 (UTC)

[edit] If it's not one thing, it's another

A -> (A or B or C)

No? :-) (above is by User:Lulu of the Lotus-Eaters)

Mathematically it's certainly the case that "Discordianism was founded in either 23 BCE, 1958, or 1959" or that "Wikipedia is either an online encyclopedia or a dessert topping". But the implication, in English, is that all such options are equally likely, or at least that all of them have unknown truth values. DenisMoskowitz 20:53, 2005 September 11 (UTC)
The correct year is the prettiest one. Lulu of the Lotus-Eaters

[edit] More local fun

Hey Denis, long time no see! Three pips of local significance:

  • The Ignobels are coming up. Want to join a delegation? We would need six Wikipedians and some style
  • Meetup two Mondays from now : guests from the Museum of Science and Jimbo's fine self
  • Wikimania in Boston next year? We need volunteers and suggestions!

Cheers, +sj + 08:31, 16 September 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Unitarianism

I believe that what 212.209.42.132 meant on Neopaganism by Uniterranism was Unitarianism, or Unitarian Universalism, which is indeed widespread. --Nantonos 20:08, 4 October 2005 (UTC)

Thanks for your explanation, I agree with you. --Nantonos 06:05, 5 October 2005 (UTC)

[edit] A revival of interest

"Having read at least fifty books on the Illuminati, I am convinced that it exists and can be blamed for many of man's inhumane actions against his fellow man during the past two hundred years."" Dr. Tim LaHaye co-Author of best selling book "Left Behind"

[edit] SpinnWebe and Scribs

Re: SpinnWebe: thanks.

Re: Scribs: crap. Yeah, I know it probably won't survive. The Comixpedia guys barely seem to know what they're doing, though.

[edit] SpinnWebe has been nominated for AFD again

As a heads-up, SpinnWebe has been nominated for AFD a second time at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/SpinnWebe. I strongly encourage you to participate in the discussion. SchuminWeb (Talk) 03:03, 23 February 2006 (UTC)

Hi, Denis! Nice to meet you! I was wondering how long till something I did was deleted (I passed 50 edits but hadn't got to 100 yet the last time I checked). Glad it was you -- you're on my watchlist! (Yes, the AISB ARE watching you... but whose watching THEM?!?) Icarus 23 01:44, 17 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Matthew Sweet

It's been a well-kept secret, but if you look up the Lincoln, Nebraska public records on Matthew Sweet, you WILL find that his real first name is in fact Sydney. He also has made this known to fans and has used it as a nickname on his collaboration album with Susanna Hoffs of the Bangles fame, on which they call themselves "Sid n Susie". I had also attached a bio external link to help support my claim that Sydney was his first name in case someone like yourself came along and changed it. In fact, I'll even GIVE you the most verifiable link. Please don't remove it after this.

[edit] Discordian Works

I think you're interested in this. I put the problems with someone gutting this article up for mediation at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Mediation_Cabal/Cases/2007-02-10_Discordian_Works I hope I stated the case clearly and without sounding angry even though I am. I think that wise heads can see what's being done for themselves. Nothing justifies cutting it when the vote was KEEP! Binky The WonderSkull 05:59, 10 February 2007 (UTC)
