I have put this up for mediation. Please be civil and allow that process to happen.

Dennis Calero has colored and drawn hundreds of comics.

It does not seem to meet ANY of the 12 criteria for speedy deletion.

I disagree, in it's current state notability isnt asserted. Please note, that doesnt mean the subject isnt notable. Notability needs to be asserted in the article for it to be listed in Wikipedia. For guidelines see WP:BIO. Hope this helps, MidgleyDJ 01:47, 22 October 2006 (UTC)

Notability is not one of the 12 criteria for speedy deletion.

As to notability, Dennis Calero has worked on HUNDREDS of comics. more than some of the artists whho currently have articles, including an upcoming prequel story to 28 days later. PLEASE allow me more than a day to expand the article and please stop targeting it for deletion. The article went up today.

With all due respect, I don't see anything in your background that entitles you to judge whether this figure in comics is "notable".

With all due respect, you dont know what my background is - and it doesnt have anything to do with the matter at hand. I am not, and have never suggesting the person isnt notable. What I am suggesting is that it certainly wasnt asserted in the article. Which is the reason I tagged the article (originally - see below/Mistaken ID) for speedy deletion. Accordingly :

"Published authors, editors and photographers who received multiple independent reviews of or awards for their work

Painters, sculptors, architects, engineers, and other professionals whose work is widely recognized (for better or worse) and who are likely to become a part of the enduring historical record of that field"

Dennis Calero fits both these criteria.

Again, I have requested mediation on this issue. At least until I hear from them, PLEASE STOP MARKING THIS ARTICLE FOR DELETION. Civility, please.

[edit] Mistaken ID?

User:Ughmonster, also reposted the last comments he/she made on my talk page. I am assuming he/she thinks I have nominated this article for an AfD discussion which I have not. I originally marked the article for speedy deletion as notability was not asserted (in the article). As I said above, it's worth looking over the guidelines for WP:BIO in order to determine whether notability may be established for this person. I dont think there has been any incivility. [edit] New Question

Question: the artist has emailed me, very nice, that he would prefer not to provide me with copyrighted images to put on wikipedia. Can I grab shots from websites if they are meant to be promotional (like his Star Trek poster?) --Ughmonster 02:46, 24 October 2006 (UTC)

I think it may be better to simply respect his wishes. - A Man In Bl♟ck (conspire | past ops) 03:13, 24 October 2006 (UTC)

What do you think of the current edits? I'm seeing if I can get permission from a small website with a photo of the artist. --Ughmonster 12:15, 25 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Mediation

Is this case still active or can I close it? --Ideogram 10:30, 29 November 2006 (UTC)
