Isn't Denjoy counterexample more common? Maybe we can create an article on circle diffeomorphisms with results by Denjoy, Herman, Hill, the renormalization group analysis, Arnold tongues, ...  — XaosBits 03:42, 10 March 2006 (UTC)
I had always heard "denjoy diffeomorphism" but it looks like it's called both, judging from a google search. (and heaven help us, Wikipedia is already the first result for "denjoy diffeomorphism"!) Whichever way we name the official article we should probably have a redirect page.
I agree that a general article about circle diffeomorphisms would be helpful. There is an article on Circle maps but it's very skewed to the Arnol'd example. --Experiment123 21:33, 11 March 2006 (UTC)
