- This coin was probably minted in occasion of the aedilician games of 58 BC, and celebrates the defeat of King Aretas III of the Nabateans by Marcus Aemilius Scaurus, one of the two aediles, in 62 BC. In reality, Scaurus had relieved the siege to the Nabatean capital of Petra after receiving a bribe of 300 talents.
