The Denver Regional Council of Governments (DRCOG, pronounced Doctor Cog) is a regional planning and inter-governmental coordination organization for the Denver region of the State of Colorado. DRCOG is the designated Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) and the Transportation Planning Region (TPR) for the region that includes nine of the twelve counties of the Denver-Aurora-Boulder Combined Statistical Area.[1] DRCOG was originally formed on Feb. 15, 1955 to plan for the development of the metropolitan area and to meet the common problems that confront the counties.[2]

DRCOG also had an instrumental hand in planning and execution of Denver's Transportation Expansion Project (Denver) or T-REX.
