Denver Academy is an independent, private 2-12 school in Denver, Colorado. The school provides a customized education according to each student's unique learning profile. Students are described as having average or above aptitudes but not reaching their academic potential in traditional academic settings, usually because their learning strengths have not been recognized. Some students have identifiable learning profiles such as dyslexia or attention deficits while others have strengths in non-traditional learning styles; they are more engaged learners rather than passive learners. The Academy was founded in 1972, and occupied a schoolhouse in the Washington Park area of Denver until relocating to a 20 acre historic property in southeast Denver in 2001. Students come from around the Front Range of Colorado and beyond. Denver Academy is a registered 501(c)(3)
