Dentalium suteri is a tusk shell of the family Dentaliidae, endemic to New Zealand waters. It is found around the eastern coast of the South Island at about 90 m, and the Chatham Islands at between 40 and 280 m.
The shell is similar to Dentalium nanum in curvature and in the variability of the longitudinal ribbing, but is usually truncated anteriorly, with a conspicuous projecting pipe.
Length is up to 45.4 mm, and width at the anterior aperture up to 3.9 mm.
