Dennis Smith (born August 2, 1969 in Reading) is an English darts player who plays for the Professional Darts Corporation.

Dennis is a stalwart on the PDC circuit but has yet to capture a major title to add to his collection of Open wins.

A run to the last eight at the 2005 Stan James World Matchplay brought back an air of self-belief for Dennis following a tough year in which only a win at the JR Vauxhall Open proved to be a highlight.

He kicked on and reached the semi-finals at the PDC World Grand Prix Darts championship to continue his resurgence, and then made the last 16 at the PDC World Darts Championship.

A World Championship semi-finalist in 2000 who has a unique, measured action, Dennis learned his trade under the tutelage of Phil Taylor.

He was knocked out of the 2007 Las Vegas Desert Classic in the Quarter-Final by John Part 10-9 (legs) after beating Dennis Priestley and Darin Young on route.

Dennis is known for finding the extremely hot on-stage conditions very difficult at times and has a very unusual throwing action, turning the dart into a 'flight first' position before returning it to a 'point first' position, then throwing.
