Dennis Gentenaar (born September 30, 1975 in Nijmegen, Gelderland) is a Dutch football goalkeeper who currently plays for Ajax.

Coming from the amateur side ZOW Gentenaar made his professional debut at NEC on November 26, 1995 aged 20, at home against PSV Eindhoven which NEC lost 5-0. Gentenaar made another appearance later that season, but had to wait until 1998 to make another appearance in professional football. That season he played 7 matches, still being the second goalkeeper at NEC. From the 2000-01 season on things changed for Gentenaar and he became NEC's first goalkeeper. Since then he only missed out on a total of 9 appearances in five seasons, of which the last three seasons he did not miss one single match.

He grew out to be a trustworthy goalkeeper and his performances earned him a transfer to Bundesliga side Borussia Dortmund. A year later he returned to the Eredivisie to become second goalkeeper behind Maarten Stekelenburg at Ajax, which whom he won the 2007 KNVB Cup, his first career trophy.
