Denise Nickerson (born April 1, 1957) is an American former child actress. She is probably best known for her roles as the gum-chewing Violet Beauregarde in the 1971 movie Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory and for her well-regarded and important recurring role as Amy Jennings in the highly rated (and still popular via DVD and reruns) gothic soap opera on ABC-TV's Dark Shadows, which she played on from 1968-1970.

Later on, Nickerson played Allison, a member of the Short Circus music group, during the second season of The Electric Company, an educational TV program for children. She also guest starred as Pamela, a girlfriend of Peter Brady on The Brady Bunch.

Nickerson appeared in other shows and stage productions before retiring from acting in her early twenties, when she got married. Denise has since divorced and now works as a procurement agent for a successful engineering company. Nickerson also appeared on an episode of the 2000-2002 John O'Hurley version of To Tell the Truth, as contestant number two.
