[edit] Career
Laurel was discovered by Star Magic's big boss Mr. M (Johnny Manahan) in a play of Repertory Philippines. Luckily, she was given a break to be part of "Ang TV 2", then she played Ina Raymundo's daughter in "Pangako Sa ‘Yo".
She then made a name in Singapore when she was fortunate to be part of MTV Asia’s "Rouge" which was shown all over Asia. Among the many who auditioned, she stood out and got the role of a smart lead vocalist named Pat. At the age of 16, her experience in working with other nationalities has taught her things that helped her improve her craft. After a season in "Rouge," Denise decided to concentrate on her local showbiz career.[2]
She went back to the Philippines, not as a ABS-CBN artist but as a GMA artist. She starred on a teen-oriented show "Click", "Walang Hanggang" and "Leya" of TAPE Inc. and two telefantasyas "Mulawin" and "Encantadia".
She then went back to her original home, ABS-CBN. Despite a short separation, she has proven that indeed home is where the heart is. The Star Magic talent has returned to where she grew up as an actress, and she’s here to stay. Laurel was part of "Abt Ur Luv", and the 5th season of "Komiks", where she plays an "Engkantao". She is currently working on her debut album and is the newest addition to the Studio 23 family.[3]
