Denis Behan is a professional footballer for Cork City in the FAI Premier Division.

Denis has won under age level Munster Youths and Munster Senior Cup medals, and was part of Cork City's run of two consecutive eircom League U21 championships. He has been capped for the Republic of Ireland at U16, U17, U18, U21and U-23 levels, making him one of City's most capped players. He has an excellent goals-to-games ratio, and scored in City’s two successful U21 league finals, against Bohemians and St Patrick’s Athletic.

He has been a regular first team squad member for the past two seasons. One of the squad’s jokers, Denis is a brave centre forward in the bustling tradition and packs a powerful shot in either foot. He has a knack of scoring spectacular goals and is currently the all-time top scorer in the Setanta Cup.
On Tuesday 25th September 2007 Behan recorded his first senior hat trick for Cork City FC in their FAI Cup Quarter Final Replay at home to local rivals Waterford United. City won the game 4-0. Behan hit twice in the first half, with Liam Kearney adding a third before Behan wrapped up his hat trick following a neat through ball from John O'Flynn
Denis' proudest moment in football so far came on 2nd December 2007 during the FAI Cup Final when Cork City took on Longford Town. On the hour mark a cross from John O'Flynn was met by a diving header from Behan. The only goal of the game ensured City won the Cup

- Denis is from Abbeyfeale in County Limerick but was born in Tralee, County Kerry. He joined Cork City from Brentford F.C.
- Denis once accurately knocked a carton of chips from a spectators hands during a half-time warm up. He has yet to repay the unlucky supporter.
- City fans often sing 'What's that coming over the hill? It's Denis Behan!' to the tune of Monster by The Automatic.
- Denis Behan scored 9 times in City's last 6 matches, to catapult City to 2nd in the El
- Kevin Doyle had high praise for Behan, saying he could be the biggest transfer out of the EL. Behan subsequenyly signed a 3 year extension with Cork City.
