[edit] Merge with crippleware?

Demoware is the general name for software which is limited in a certain way.

It's not the same as crippleware because crippleware is only limited in functionality. Shareware for example, is limited in amount of executions or in time (e.g. you can only use it freely for 30 days) etc...

Shareware and crippleware are demoware, and not the other way around.

Then it seems more acceptable to merge crippleware as a sub-category of demoware.
I am for this decision. Stu Hacking talk 08:58, 13 September 2007 (UTC)

I say don't merge, but move some of it. I think everything from the first line and until the phrase "another use" should be moved into crippleware. This article should start with the phrase Another use. Except of course it's not "another" use but "the" use. The "first" use actually describes crippleware and has nothing to do with demoware.
Anyone in favor? -Lwc4life 21:10, 22 September 2007 (UTC)
I think that crippleware should be merged with demoware/trialware. -Pikachu444 17:10, 12 January 2008 (UTC)

No merge yet. I would like to see a full proposal on how to reorganize the series of *ware articles, which is currently a mess. Take this to Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Computing. Ham Pastrami (talk) 03:00, 3 February 2008 (UTC)
