Talk:Democratic Left (UK)

[edit] 'Some members disagreed with this decision...'

According to information circulating at the time, nearly half of the members of the CPGB in fact opposed the devolution into the Democratic Left; and there is no evidence whatsoever that this large minority then joined the CPB, as the article in its current form seems to suggest. It therefore seems to be written from the perspective of naive or disingenuous wishful thinking: 'everyone involved found their true political home' - when in fact, many CPGB loyalists were left completely without the political and cultural home which had created and sustained previous generations (including many work placements, friendships, unions, marriages, etc.,), and suffered dire personal, social and political consequences, left to eke out the remainder of their existence in a hostile political wilderness, with no consideration or mercy from the 'new women' of the Thatcher era (?)left.
