The Democratic Party is a minor political party in the United Kingdom. It was formed in 1998 by various people who felt there was scope for a party that placed democracy as its paramount political value. It asserts that its members come from across the political spectrum.

It is led by Geoffrey Southwall, and the treasurer is Jill Perkins.

The Earl of Burford stood as its candidate in its first parliamentary contest, the November 1999 Kensington and Chelsea by-election (won by Michael Portillo).

It has previously supported the United Kingdom Independence Party at elections they were not contesting themselves, but have been critical of the UKIP for moving to the right. Prior to the 2005 General Election, the Democratic Party held discussions with the English Democrats regarding an electoral alliance. Subsequently, several members of the Democratic Party, frustrated at the failure of the party to stand in any elections, have joined the English Democrats.
