Demiran Cerimovic orchestra

Demiran Ćerimović and his orchestra "The Perles of Vranje" are Rroma living in a small town of Vranje in Southern Serbia. With their traditonnal rroma music, they’ve been playing many kinds of Rroma and world music festivals in Serbia and beyond since 1997. Seven times they won the price of the best brass band Rroma orchestra at the "Vlasinsko leto" summer festival and twice (in 2002 and 2006) at the Guca brass band festival.
In 2005 they recorded their first album together with Tonny Hanna, a Lebanese singer. In the 2006, they recorded their second album Perles of Vranje. In Guca they met the famous Serbian Rroma dancer and singer, Simona Jović, who has fought for years for the recognition and the maintenance of the authentic Rroma culture. Simona Jović fell in love with their music and they she takes them with her to her European Rromani tour. Today, they continue working together, presenting all around the world the authentic Rroma music and dances from the Balkans and Central Europe, especially the famous čočeks, typical for the Vranje area.
