Deming Public Schools

Deming Public Schools is a public school district headquartered in Deming, New Mexico, United States.
The district serves the city of Deming and the village of Columbus as well as other areas in Luna County.
Deming Public Schools buses students residing in Mexico (including the city of Palomas) from the United States-Mexico border to Columbus Elementary [1] ("A Bridge to Education," Houston Chronicle, April 29, 2007).

[edit] Plans for change between 2006 and 2017
Deming Public Schools has plans to change the configuration of the local schools:
- All 6th graders, except for those at Columbus Elementary School, would attend one building
- 7th and 8th graders would attend Red Mountain Middle School
- 9th through 12th graders would attend Deming High School
- Smith and Martin elementary schools would close while Ruben Torres Elementary School would open.
