[edit] Customer Communities
Some clubs have socnet style webpages for arranging club outings and travel for small groups of 5 - 16 people. This is motivated by the customers and is an asset for the clubs.
Some customers are uniting to pruchase goods from a specific supplier. These are often motivated by the businesses. In some cases they do not need shops.
Small private businesses in rural areas can combine their clients for offers to provide lowered prices for their clientele, through point card and loyalty card schemes. This would keep their customers more local and help inform them and provide competitive prices.
Web groups and socnets provide interest groups which correlate with customer bases and provide targeted advertising for people.
