Demand Media
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Demand Media was founded in May 2006 by Shawn Colo, a private equity executive, and Richard Rosenblatt, the former CEO of Intermix Media and Chairman of MySpace. Demand Media defines itself as a leading social media company that provides an interactive, personalized and vertically-focused media experience for users. When Demand Media was launched, it raised $120 million in equity and acquired eNom, eHow and a portfolio of highly trafficked domain names.[1]
The company develops its own proprietary social media tools to power its media sites and its own platform technology as the world's second largest domain registrar.
